How to choose ELCO recessed
Pick ELCO recessed by four choices in order: aperture, housing type, color temperature, and voltage.
Aperture is the visible opening. ELCO recessed runs from 1-inch (Oak) and 2-inch (Teak, Alder, Koto) up through 3-inch, 4-inch, 5-inch, and 6-inch. Smaller apertures give tighter, lower-glare downlight; larger apertures spread more light over a room.
Housing type follows the ceiling. Use new-construction frames for open framing, remodel or canless for finished ceilings, IC-airtight housings for direct contact with insulation, and the Slant system for sloped ceilings from a 2/12 to a 6/12 pitch.
Color temperature sets the light tone. ELCO offers single-CCT modules from 2700K to 5000K, 5-CCT switchable inserts, sunset dimming that shifts from 3000K to 1800K, and human-centric modules that dim from 4000K to 2200K.
Voltage depends on the circuit. Line-voltage ELCO fixtures run 120V or 277V, or 120-277V on commercial Koto MAX, while low-voltage Oak and 24V DC Koto run on a low-voltage supply.
