Morris 96116 Insulation Piercing Connector, 350 MCM Main / 350 MCM Tap

Morris's 96116 is an above-ground insulation piercing connector that taps a 350 MCM - 1/0 AWG main to a 350 MCM - 1/0 AWG tap without stripping the conductors. Tin-plated copper teeth pierce the insulation inside a fiber-reinforced thermoplastic body, and the 2 double shear-head bolt(s) break off at the correct 330 in-lb torque.

Used for overhead and above-grade tap connections - insulated or bare mains, URD services, street lighting, gutter taps, and non-tension split-bolt replacement - joining a 350 MCM - 1/0 AWG main to a 350 MCM - 1/0 AWG tap.

Installation

Insert the tap conductor fully into the end cap, place the connector on the main, and tighten the 5/8" shear-head bolt with a closed-end wrench or socket until the head breaks off at 330 in-lb.
