Because their LEDs and driver are spread across a larger body, they run cooler and produce a wide, even rectangular beam with noticeably less glare. A UFO throws a circular pool of light, ideal over open areas but prone to leaving darker gaps between fixtures if they are spaced too far apart, and it can waste light against the walls of a narrow aisle. A linear fixture lays down a rectangular beam that aligns with rows of racking, pushing light deep between shelves for even, gap-free coverage. Ceiling height
UFOs excel at high mounting heights, comfortably delivering usable light from 25 to 40 feet. Linears do their best work in the 15 to 25 foot range, where the diffused output feels more comfortable and avoids hot spots. Once you climb above 30 feet, a concentrated UFO beam usually wins.
Glare and visual comfort
